ELGIN's flagship service, roadworks.org, is the largest single source of local roadworks information in the UK - 1.7 million roadworks a year (see live data meter below). roadworks.org delivers real-time access to local roadworks information in over 80 Local Authorities as well as motorways and trunk routes across England and Wales. roadworks.org is free to view - users are able to view precisely where and when roadworks are taking place, who is responsible for them, and assess the likely impact on journey times. Our service helps to reduce the impact of works by enabling utility companies and local authorities to improve coordination and efficiency. ELGIN is a new company dedicated to fulfilling the Government's Open Data objectives in 2012 and creating a nationwide local roadworks service, free to view and independent of any highways management system provider.
